Gallery walls were starting to feel dated for a while, but they’re making a big comeback—if done right. With thoughtful curation and an eye for balance, a gallery wall can feel fresh, personal, and perfectly in tune with today’s design trends. A gallery wall can elevate your home, adding personality, depth, and a curated feel to any space.
I'm getting ready to add a gallery wall down our hallway. I've been wanting to add more photos around the house and once baby comes I know we'll have even more photos to display and I can't wait!
A hallway leading to bedrooms is a perfect place to do this - it's somewhere that not all people walk by in your home, only special people. Sometimes it's better that not everyone gets to see all your personal photos.
Here are a few examples of gallery walls that are DESIGNER APPROVED.

For a polished, gallery-like aesthetic, stick to frames of the same size and align them in a precise grid. It creates a sense of order and professionalism, making it perfect for displaying a series of photographs. Keep the spacing between frames uniform and consider using a level to ensure the grid looks flawless.
Dramatic Framing + Art

The black-framed collection shown above demonstrates how to play with varying frame sizes and orientations without feeling chaotic. Lean toward neutral or abstract pieces to keep the vibe serene, or include personal touches like travel photos or portraits for a more intimate feel. Position the frames to complement furniture lines, such as aligning the bottom row with the headboard.
Monochromatic Simplicity

A monochromatic gallery wall, like the example with all-white frames and black-and-white photos, creates a clean and cohesive look. This is ideal for modern or minimalist spaces. Uniform framing keeps the focus on the images themselves, while the consistency adds an organized feel. These gallery walls are perfect for family rooms, home offices, or areas where you want a calming, harmonious aesthetic.
